Under the noble patronage of Padamshri Poonam Suri ji, President DAV College Managing Committee, Ma’am  Sneh Mahajan, Chairperson, Sh. H. R. Gandhar ji, Ma’am Madhu Bahl, Sh. Vijay Kumar ji and Dr. Mamta Goel, Principal DAV School, Surajpur, initiated by Arya Pradeshik Pratinidhi Upsabha, Chandigarh the Blood Donation Camp was held on the school premises of DAV Sr. Public School, Surajpur on 7th September, 2019. Commemorating the centenary year of our brave martyrs of Jallianwala Bagh, the Camp was held to pay reverence to the brave martyrs of the nation.

            Chairperson Ma’am Sneh Mahajan, Secretary D.A.V. C.M.C. Sh. Ravinder Talwar ji, President of Arya Pradeshik Pratinidhi Upsabha Chandigarh Sh. H. R. Gandhar ji, Mantri Sh. Vijay Kumar ji, Ma’am Madhu Bahl and President of Rotary Club, Chandigarh Sh. Mittal ji along with their team graced the auspicious event as the guests of honour. Principals of various DAV institutions also marked their gracious presence.

The team of Doctors and medical staff of Rotary and Blood Bank Society Resource Centre, Chandigarh arrived and the Camp was held successfully with as much as 102 units of blood collected.

Speaking on the occasion Principal Dr. Mamta Goel said that the noble deed of donating blood, being a divine task, must be accepted by healthy people as any other normal task. Glorifying the martyrdom of our brave Jallianwala Bagh heroes and those who sacrificed their precious lives for the nation. She said, “the brave martyrs shed their precious blood for us, not fearing any pain or loss. Then why do we fear donating blood that spreads humanity and causes no pain.”

The school had celebrated the entire month dedicated to the martyrs by organizing Senior students Marathon. Tree plantation, Poetry, Speech, Slogan Writing and Bulletin Board Competition.
